President
Edward H. Manley is a retired Navy Lt. Commander - incl. serving as a Marine Corps medic; B.S. from the Cornell Hotel & M.S. from Rollins College. Hospital foodservice director for 20 years; restaurant and catering co. owner; Managed the International Foodservice Executives Association (founded 1901) for 16 years, currently President Emeritus. Founded E. H. Manley & Associates in 1989, transitioned to Foodservice Institute, which has certified 8000 people with 16,000 certifications. Owner Veteran's Support Network which created the Enlisted Aide of the Year Award and teaches homeless veterans at no charge. Born in Staten Island, NY, lives in Las Vegas, NV.
Senior Vice President
David Zander is a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. He has multiple degrees in Business Administration including an MBA from Strayer University. Having spent 24 years in the Navy and serving on 4 different submarines (we determined Dave was under the water for 17 years).
Upon retirement in 2008, the HACCP certification he earned through FSI got him an $85K job with Winn Dixie managing their regional Deli-Bakeries, later as GM of the stores, for a total of 10 years (all thanks to certifications). He brings a vast wealth of business and culinary knowledge to the team. Dave has been our Senior VP
for the past 10 years and resides in King George, Virgina.
Secretary
Deborah L. Szymchack is the Vice President and Branch Manager for Raymond James Financial's Portage, MI, branch. She resides in Kalamazoo, MI, and is the daughter of Edward Manley.
Treasurer
Patrick Moore is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sgt., with tours that included serving as Senior Enlisted Aide to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. He recently completed a role overseeing protocol at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Chief Moore resides in Alexandria, VA.
Board Member
Michael E. Manley is the Sales Manager for the Caribbean Division at Jeld-Wen Corporation. He spent many years working with E. H. Manley and Associates, managing headquarters and military awards conferences. He resides in Lake Worth, FL.
Board Member
Jesus Guillen is a retired Navy Chief Culinary Specialist and submariner. He spent several years as a food broker and currently resides in Honolulu, HI.
