Veteran Education & On-The-Job Training Solutions
VSN is dedicated to serving our veterans. We have a range of objectives aimed at helping homeless veterans climb back up the ladder. While many provide them with much-needed resources such as shelter, food, and clothing, we go a step further. We provide them with the skills to sustain themselves — offering a "fishing rod" so they can catch their own "fish."
Our focus is helping homeless veterans gain skills, education, and advancement, particularly in the food service and hospitality industries. Additionally, we assist in resume building and job placement.

Training
The Foodservice Institute, formerly known as E. H. Manley & Associates, offers an eight-day food service management training and nine certifications from GFI and the National Restaurant Association free of charge for homeless veterans. This is the same program offered to active-duty personnel and civilians.
What Our Homeless Vets Say
Students from the February 2014 class shared these messages of appreciation:
"I cannot begin to express my gratitude. the war on poverty is just beginning and my weapon is loaded and aimed."
- Teresa, U.S. Army Vet
Unemployed and homeless for 1 year.
After being unemployed for 4 months and homeless for 2 months, Lisa was hired by a La Quinta Motel the day after class ended.
"Thanks for not just looking at us as bums, but like we're actually someone! You are awesome and so is your class. I look forward to getting a great job!"
- Liz, U.S. Air Force Vet
Unemployed for 2 years and homeless for 6 months.
"Thank you for your guidance. You are a wonderful example of how to be a director in life; I am looking forward to applying all I learned."
- Lisa, U.S. Air Force Vet
Job Training from a Lasting Veterans' Charity
VSN has ambitious goals as our veterans' charity continues to grow. Our mission is not simply to get veterans off the streets — many organizations offer that service. Instead, we aim to keep them off the streets by providing job training, skills, and credentials. These tools enable veterans to find employment and reclaim the American Dream they fought to protect.
Putting Your Contributions to Good Use
VSN is incorporated in Nevada as an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions to our cause are tax-deductible under Section 170 of the IRS Code, and we are eligible to receive tax-deductible bequests, devices, transfers, and gifts. This enables us to apply for grants from other 501(c)(3) organizations with similar funding goals. Instead of relying on marketing dollars from industry partners, we can seek grants from your company's charitable foundation.
